Qodile Popular Posts

v2.1.0

Rank your most-read posts from daily aggregated view counters.

WordPress 6.0+PHP 7.4+GPLv2+Coming soon on wordpress.org

Qodile Popular Posts ranks your most-read content from a compact daily counter instead of scanning an ever-growing log of every page view. Rankings stay fast no matter how much history accumulates.

Features

  • Lightweight tracking beacon (sendBeacon with a fetch fallback), no jQuery, page-cache friendly — it never blocks rendering.
  • Daily aggregated counters, deduplicated per visitor, with bounded retention: the table never grows forever.
  • “Most Read Posts” sidebar widget and a read-only REST API (qodile/1.0.0) for your own front-ends.
  • Self-healing schema: tables and scheduled jobs are created and kept up to date on every upgrade.

Privacy

View data stays on your own server. To deduplicate, each view stores a pseudonymous token (HMAC-SHA256 of the IP and user-agent, keyed by a salt regenerated every night) — the raw IP is never kept, and only counts remain after roll-up. Nothing is sent to any third party.

Free software under GPLv2 or later — you can study, modify and redistribute it.
